Iain Barr - Ever wondered what leads to success in fly fishing? Why not ask Iain Barr, one of the countries most capped international anglers. Get inside his fishing brain and ask the questions that has lead him to the forefront of fly fishing. Whether its a tackle question or just how does he do it, feel free to ask Iain that burning question that eats away after another day on the water. Iain is also displaying some 'not seen' before patterns that will be revealed at the show! Iain says "It's these new patterns that keep me there, at the front" And, of course knowing how to fish them, which will all be answered in this fantastic theatre session. [See programme timings]

I have been working for Orvis for nearly 2 and a half years and now work out of the Bakewell store that opened in 2006 as assistant manager and fly fishing manager. Spending 5 days a week in store free time is taken up with teaching and guiding through out the Uk or producing articles for Trout fisherman magazine. I run a yearly hosted trip to Belize to go salt water fly fishing which is a huge passion of mine. Recently became one of the very first Orvis endorsed Fly fishing guides in the UK. Custom Thread Art by Chris Ward

Chris Ward, Custom Rod builder, will give you a brief insight into custom thread art. A short presentation will look at the three main areas that fall within this subject. Firstly, the simple process of having the guides on your rod wrapped in the colour of your choice followed by an introduction to ‘wraps’ where threads are wrapped around the rod in a given sequence to create a pattern commonly known as a cross wrap. Finally Chris will talk on the more intricate process of weaving an image or pattern onto a rod thereby creating a unique identity for the owner and also demonstrating the basic start of a cross wrap.
