Over the last decade, Chris Sandford’s name has also become synonymous with the world of fishing and his collection of vintage fishing tackle ranks amongst the finest in the UK. ENGLAND YOUTH FLYFISHING ASSOCIATION - EYFA was established in 1985 to develop and promote excellence in our sport for young people between the ages of 12 and 19. Each year we fish with the other home nations in the Loch Style International, meet with other countries from around the World for the World Championships as well as organise our own loch style and Rivers Championships. After successfully competing in the 4th World Championships in Czech Republic during 2005 and winning the Fair Play award, the rivers of Northern Portugal are the next World venue in July.Interested in fishing for England? ANGLERS' CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION - The ACA was established in 1948 with the aim of protecting the lakes and rivers of the United Kingdom from pollution. The ACA’s legal team of in-house environmental solicitors represents ACA member clubs and riparian owners in legal proceedings. We win damages from offenders who cause pollution damage or other harm to fisheries. We also advise clubs and riparian owners across the whole range of angling and related law. Over the years, the ACA has taken on many thousands of cases against polluters and those who damage fisheries, recovering many millions of pounds in damages. All of this is free to clubs and owners who join the ACA. Can you afford not to be a member ?



THE GRAYLING SOCIETY - From very modest beginnings in 1977 and a handful of original members, the Society has grown internationally. At this date, more than 250 of our members live and fish for Grayling outside the United Kingdom. Membership of the Society provides you with an opportunity to make a direct contribution to the conservation of perhaps the most beautiful of all wild game fish. In return for your support, the Grayling Society will provide you with a range of benefits - principally aimed at informing you about the Grayling and its habitat - offering advice on fishing and helping you to keep in touch with other like minded anglers throughout the world. DERBYSHIRE COUNTY ANGLING CLUB - The Derbyshire County Angling Club has extensive fly fishing waters on the rivers Dove, Manifold and the Derbyshire Derwent with good mayfly hatches on all three rivers. Fly fishing is available in 22 different locations, on over 25 miles of river and over 250 acres of lakes and reservoirs.


THE FLY DRESSERS GUILD -




England Ladies Flyfishing Association. The England Ladies Flyfishing Association will be holding a raffle each day with some great prizes to be won. Draws will take place at 3 .30 pm on both Sat and Sun. This is an invaluable fund raiser for both the National and European teams who have to fund most of the cost themselves. The home international is on Grafam reservoir in 2007 and the European team are travelling to Norway – each event being very expensive to organise.
We will also be promoting CFR UK and Ireland ( casting for recovery). This is a project will offer women who have breast cancer the chance to get away for a 3 day retreat which will incorporate some fly fishing in a wonderful surroundings of Duncton Mill. More details about this will be explained in our Sunday morning Lecture and slide show in one of the theatres.

The E.L.F.A. was first formed in 1989 and has gone from strength to strength since then. The aim of the association is to promote fly fishing by, for, and amongst ladies. We now have over one hundred members. We annually hold a number of get-togethers, some of them match orientated, others just an opportunity for ladies to fish together. We also hold fund raising events such as the mixed pairs and an auction in May. The major event in our calendar is the National, which is held in the autumn. The results from this determine the team that will represent England in the International the following year. To date we have competed in thirteen Internationals and the team have won eight gold medals.


Game Angling Instructors Association - GAIA is the Professional Body for game angling instructors in the UK. APGAI (Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors) changed its name to GAIA in 1997. Changing the name enabled instructors with other recognised qualifications to join the Association, this brought the majority of instructors within one officially recognised body. GAIA exists to ensure that the standards of instruction in game angling are maintained at a level expected by a professional body. All GAIA members are fully qualified instructors holding at least one of the following qualifications. APGAI, STANIC, SGAIC, Level 2 CCA in at least one of three disciplines


Confederation of English Fly Fishers - CEFF. Last year was an interesting competition year in which we had mixed results. The cream of the crop was the magnificent team silver medal in Norway with Iain barr taking the individual silver. The world team in Finland finished in a creditable 7th place. EYEBROOK TROUT FISHERY - “Nestling on the borders of three counties – Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire Eyebrook Reservoir is a jewel hidden in one of the prettiest parts of England. Surrounded by rolling arable fields, pasture land, spruce, pine and willow trees, you would be hard stretched to find a more attractive looking water.” Abstract from Trout Fisherman Magazine.
The 400 acre water is a mature stream fed reservoir with 5 miles of easily accessed bank, and a charm and abience normally associated with smaller waters. Good water levels are maintained all year round, even in the driest of summers the average depth is 17ft, maximum depth 45 ft.
Renowned for its nymph sport and top of the water action, the water responds well to traditional fly fishing techniques. The waters are well stocked with Rainbow and Blue Trout, joining the Native Brown Trout. No other water sports are permitted at Eyebrook, you are guaranteed peace and tranquillity to enjoy your fishing.


SARAH WILSON - Classic Art Fly. Every salmon tyer has examples of their work around their homes in frames, but how many have ever considered paintings of flies?
Scottish based artist, Sarah Wilson, is fast making a special place for herself in this unusual discipline.
The work can take around two days to complete, starting out with a sketch and further detail using Gouache paint and reflect Sarah's love for Classic Flies - "they appeal to my artistic sense of the elements of colour, line, balance and proportion. I like their size and making them even larger makes them more dramatic and reveals their detail."
In her quest to find examples of classic flies that are the most challenging to tie and paint, Sarah has worked with tyers from Sweden, Sven-olov Hard ; Canada, Bryant Freeman and Jerome Molloy; Italy, Fabrizio Gajardoni; England, Dave Carne and from Scotland, Davie McPhail.
Sarah is currently working on a series of flies by U.S. based tyer and author Paul Ptalis and is demonstrating at the Spring Fly Fishing Show at Newark.
Her Classic Fly Art can be seen on permanent exhibition at the Still Life Studio in Speyside and the Tomintoul Art Gallery.
Sarah's art is available in high quality limited edition prints and originals, or if you prefer, she also takes commissions, working from either a photo or from the original masterpiece.
