VARIVAS HOOKS
. The worlds most advanced fishing hooks, for game and sea. Many fly tiers will be interested to know that a new range of Varivas® fresh water hooks is now available. The hooks have been re-designed to improve function and reliability. The fine dry fly series hooks have micro-barbs and long-tapered points to give them superior hooking properties. The wet and streamer ranges feature the Varivas® V-CUT point to enable the fisherman to set the hook easily and play even the most aggressive fish. All hooks are matt brown or bronze in colour and are down-eyed (except the matt black Keel Streamer). The range includes a barbless hook, the 2120WB Wave Barbless 1x to 2x and the 2300 Ultra Midge which is available in sizes down to #30.

The Varivas® 2100 Standard Dry hook is a 2x hook with a fine micro-barb and long taper point. Available in sizes #10 to #20 in matt brown colour. The 2110 Feather Light Dry 4x is a super fine version of the 2100. The hook is perfect for tying balanced, lightweight flies without affecting their buoyancy. Available in sizes #12 to #22 in matt brown colour.

The 2200 Curved Shank 2x to 3x , in sizes #14 to #22, has a short point, curved shank and wide gape ideal for shrimps, caddis, buzzers and Czech nymphs. The 2210 Curved Shank 4x is ideal for light shrimp, caddis and buzzer patterns in sizes #14 to #22.

The Varivas® 2300 Ultra Midge 4x are super fine small hooks ideal for tying the smallest of dry flies without compromising strength or setting properties.

Varivas® 2400V Wet 2x to 1x has a heavy long taper V-CUT point, developed specifically to improve the hooking ratio of heavy hooks. Hooks are available in sizes #6 to #16. The  2410V Deep Wide Wet 2x is has a wide gape and is designed to hold larger aggressive fish. Available in sizes #4 to #12.

The 2510WB Keel Streamer 3x Long 3x Heavy Wave Barbless hook is a proven style that avoids snagging the bottom. The pattern has an off-set point that ensures a better set and in this barb-less form ensures easy un-hooking of fish. The 2500V Streamer 3x is a standard streamer hook.

Dry fly hooks cost £3.30 for 30 and wet fly hooks cost £3.50 for 25. All hooks come in stackable plastic boxes with a flip-open front panel to protect and organize them.

Saltwater series.
The Varivas® 2600 Salt Water series of modern looking hooks were designed by IGFA fly rod world record holder Eizo Maruhashi, and are manufactured using high-power carbon and stainless steel for extra strength enabling the fly fisher to hook, play and land large hard-fighting fish such as tarpon and sailfish. Smaller sized hooks are great for tying Clousers and Pike flies. The circle-style gape on these hooks is larger than that found on traditional hooks: the gape on a #4 hook is comparable to #2 on traditional hook. All hooks have a straight eye. The unique rust-resistant finish keeps the hooks sharp and shiny.

The Varivas® 2600 V supercedes the  990C carbon hooks. They are produced from heavy Hi-Power carbon steel, short-shanked with wide gape, featuring the extra-sharp V-CUT point.

The Varivas® 2600 ST-V supercedes the 990S stainless hooks. They are produced from heavy stainless steel, short-shanked with wide gape and V-CUT point.

The Varivas® 2610 ST-V supercedes the 994S stainless hooks. 4x long 4x heavy these hooks are produced from heavy stainless steel with a long-shank and wide gape

Packed in 12s, all hooks come in stackable plastic boxes. Prices are either £3.80 or £4.50, depending on size.
