![]() John Tyzack works as a professional fly fishing guide and fully qualified AAPGAI instructor offering comprehensive fly fishing guiding and tuition services, fly casting lessons, as well as evening presentations and fly tying demonstrations. He contributes to various fly fishing publications and has appeared on a number of television programmes with fly fishing as a theme. Together with friends John Pearson, Dean Andrews and Dean Hodson, they make up the Fish On Productions team, with fly fishing their shared passion (some would argue 'obsession'!) Through the series of River Academy DVDs, Fish On Productions aims to take your fly fishing on rivers and streams to the next level with highly instructional and entertaining programmes. Please write about your favourite fly fishing pattern. I am happiest casting dry flies to rising fish and my favourite day would have to be the JT olive, absolutely deadly in the springtime when the LDOs are about. What other patterns and styles of flyfishing do you enjoy most. I'm prepared to fish any method to suit the prevailing conditions. Is there a style of flytying you enjoy more than others! I am not particularly inventive at the vice and tend to rely on patterns that work for me, some of which have been working for me for over 30 years now... ![]() What is your most memorable flyfishing moment. My first river trout on a fly I'd tied myself. It was on the Ribble just as the sun was setting. Pure magic! ![]() What is your most favoured piece of flyfishing equipment. My Sage XP. ![]() What is your most favoured piece of flytying equipment. I love all the C&F gear. ![]() What type of flyfishing rod and reel do you use. I have many rods and reels but my favourite is the 8.5ft #5 Sage XP which works really well with a Lamson Litespeed What type of flytying will you be tying at the show and are there any specific tying techniques you will be demonstrating at the show. I'll be tying flies from the River Academy series of DVDs and may even do the odd special request. www.johntyzack.co.uk & www.fishonproductions.co.uk |
