Phil White is producing a 3 part demonstration, repeated over both days giving everyone the opportunity to see this; talk, tie and casting 3 parter. Watch Phil in the demostration theatre, then time for a cuppa whilst he sets up in the Fly Tying theatre for part 2 and then watch part 3 on the casting lake.
A great opportunity to see the whole flyfishing package.
Details are;
10.15 - Lecture Theatre - Imitative flies from the bottom to the top.
- A video/photo illustrated talk on underwater life and it's imitation, covering rivers and still water.
- A
look at the insects and the patterns we dress but with a different
slant, concentrating on the particular rather than the general.
- A Gold Robbed Hare's Ear is an old and still popular fly but how many versions do you carry?
- How many different hooks do you use to tie them on and why?
11.30 - Fly Tying Theatre - The ideas put into practice.
- Just a glimpse at some of the patterns we use and the way they are tied to reflect depth, current flow and more.
12.45 - Casting Pool - The long and short of the rods we use.
- A look at the reasons for making the choices we make. How
many rods do you have and what do you use them for? Ten footers or
seven footers for nymphing? There are rods of many lengths, each
designed to do a specific jobs well but, and here is the rub, each does
many other jobs, but less well.
