    ALBERTO COPPINI - SCULPTURE

Alberto Coppini; Born in Firenze on 15-04-1962.

At the age of 10 years, he joined the workshop of Master Giocchetti Giancarlo ( also know as Puccio ) where he learned the art of how to work metal, reproducing fish, birds and a lot of other forms.

Alberto attended the Art Institute of Porta Romana, in Firenze. Still very young, he participated in competitions held by the City of Firenze, where he won 3 first prizes as Sculptures. On other of occasions, he represented Firenze and The Italian Art in foreign countries, displaying his sculptures in the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany and Switzerland.

In 1982, he won the Prize Jugend Gelstattet, Bayern Mnchen.

His Sculptures are on display at the gallery of Modern Italian Art in London, the Metal Museum of Hokkaido, the Alfa Romeo Museum of Arese, the Borromeo Park of Milano, the Angin Grosso Church in Firenze.

In 1988-89, he won the prize Pitti Immagine Uomo with the Company Corneliani, that represented Pitti Uomo Firenze.

In 1985 he joined the artistic show Fire-Enze Fire at Firenze, created and held by Mario Mariotti, and it was at this show that the ideas where born to fuse Music and Sculptures together.

In 2004, he created the First National Monument to Fly Fishers, in Castel di Sangro. On the River Arno, where he was born, he gained a passion for traditional fish, and then over years for fly-fishing. It became a dominant part of his life over the following 15 years whilst travelling and fishing everywhere and developing a strong love for Atlantic Salmon.

With fly-fishing, he re-discovered his origins and every catch was photographed, measured, released and then reproduced as a sculpture. From this personal collection he can now create beautiful sculptures of Atlantic and Pacific Salmon, Steelhead, Fario Trout, Tarpon, Permut and many more species.

Nominated honoured associate of S.I.M; the Italian Fly Fishing School. In 2004 he won the prize Trofeo Del Pescatore Dellanno.

In 2006 he participated in the friendship program between Musem Stanislao Kukhiewiz of Castl di Sangro and The American Museum of Fly Fishing in Manchester Vermont in the USA.
